How do I enter the Blockies?

Submissions are closed for 2023.

What is the Fee to enter and what does it include?

The nomination fee of $170 includes 1 ticket to the Blockies Award ceremony and the afterparty. This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate with industry leaders, innovators, and peers. Relish in the evening’s celebrations and use the afterparty as a prime networking opportunity.

The award ceremony and afterparty will take place on November 9th at Rydges Private Rooftop Terrace & Centre Stage Ballroom, 186 Exhibition Street, Melbourne, VIC 3000.

Please note: The ticket is exclusively for the individual nominee or one representative of the nominating business and is non-transferable.

How do I retrieve my Blockies ticket as a nominee?

You will receive an email from eventbrite with your ticket confirmation. If you do not receive this email, please reach out to [email protected]

Do I need to be a member of Blockchain Australia to participate?

No. Nominations are open to all.

Is there an age limit for entry?

Entrants must be over 18. 

When do entries close?

Nominations close 25th September 2023 by 23:59 AEST.

How many entries or categories can I enter?

There is no limit to the number of entries you can submit or categories entered, but each entry must be substantially different. Identical or very similar ideas from the same entrant will be disqualified. 

My company is not in Australia, can I still enter?

Businesses should be based in Australia or, if international, must demonstrate active operations or a substantial business presence within Australia.

How much does it cost to enter?

$170 inc GST. This includes ONE ticket to both the Blockies award ceremony and the afterparty.

If I’m submitting a past project, what's the completion timeframe?

It is advisable that your project is relevant to the current ecosystem. We suggest that your project was completed within the last 24 months.

Can my entry be disqualified in any way?

Yes, if your submission incomplete, inacurrate, non-conforming. Acceptance of entries is subject to the discretion of Blockchain Australia. 

Can I change my entry once submitted?

No, your entry is deemed complete once submitted.

How do I delete my entry?

You need to email [email protected] to delete your entry.

Judging FAQ

How are winners determined?

Each category has different requirements. You can find information about categories on the categories page. Finalists are determined by a panel of judges based on merit and fulfillment of the category requirements. The judges’ decisions are final. 

Are nominations limited to Blockchain Australia Members?

No. Nominations are welcome from any individual or business in the blockchain industry.

When are finalists announced?

Finalists will be announced on October 16th 2023. Names will be published on The Blockies website.

When are winners announced?

Winners will be announced at The Blockies Awards Gala Night on November 9th.

Do I need to be present at the Awards Gala Night to win?

No, however you are encouraged to attend the awards ceremony.

What do I get if I win a Blockie?

You get many advantages when you win a category, most importantly winners will be featured on our website www.blockchainaustralia.org. Winners will be communicated to our members and subscribers in our newsletter. You will receive a trophy as well as a digital winners banner to promote your win.

I made an mistake with my submission. Who do I contact?
Some information has changed since I submitted my entry. What should I do?

Do NOT submit another (changed) entry. Email [email protected]

I’ve filled in the only entry form and clicked submit but I’m not sure if it’s worked. What should I do?

You will receive an email confirming your submission. If you don’t receive it, firstly check your spam box. If you’re still in doubt about whether the process has worked, email [email protected] with your details, including your phone number, and we’ll let you know.
